Option 3 : 6.75

Given:

Side of the cube = 15 cm

Dimension of the rectangular container = 25 × 20 × 18 (in cm)

Concept used:

Volume of cube = (Side)3

Volume of a cuboid = Length × Breadth × Height

Calculation:

Let the rise of the water level be Q cm.

Hence, the volume of the cube must be equal to the volume of the water that has been aroused by submerging the cube into the rectangular container.

According to the question,

153 = 25 × 20 × Q

⇒ Q = 6.75

∴ The rise of the water level is 6.75 cm.
