Option 2 : Expressive

Language disorders or language impairments involve the processing of linguistic information. Children can have difficulty with receptive language disorders,  expressive language disorders, or a mix of both.

  •  In a class, when the students are not able to participate in the discussion, they have expressive language difficulty.
  • Expressive Language Difficulty refers to difficulty in producing spoken language. Children having this disorder can understand speech and language produced by others yet they face difficulty with producing speech themselves.

Symptoms include:

  • Difficulty in participating in discussion
  • Using a basic or limited number of words and sentences in speech
  • Difficulty in remembering/recalling the right words
  • Difficulty in learning new words
  • Problems with conveying information in an organized way
  • Not able to follow the general rules of communication
  • Making grammatical errors

Thus, it is concluded that In a class students are able to absorb the content but they do not participate in the discussion. They have expressive language difficulty.

  •  Receptive Language Disorder: It is a form of language disorder, also referred to as comprehension difficulties. These language disorders occur when a person has trouble understanding others’ spoken or written language.
