Option 2 : Understanding the relation between temperature of the surrounding and evaporation of water.

Experimentation is the process of determining anything through a scientific approach, particularly in a laboratory.

  • Experiment to determine the relationship between temperature and evaporation-
    • The rate of evaporation is affected by the temperature.
    • For performing the experiment the children will take water in 2 glasses of same the size and place one glass in the refrigerator and the other in the warm environment.
    • Allow the water to settle for an hour then transfer the contents of each glass into the measuring jug. In the refrigerator, you see that hardly any water has evaporated from the glass.
    • The glass placed in a warm atmosphere has less water as compared to the one placed in the refrigerator.
    • This provides the conclusion that temperature has an impact on the rate of evaporation i.e. Greater the temperature, the higher will be the evaporation.

Hence, we conclude that option 2 is the most suitable activity for students to learn arriving at a specific conclusion using experimentation.

Hint

  • Recording the number of days required for seed germination comes under observation.
  • How the skin colour of animals helps them camouflage comes under analysis.
