Given,

Journey covered by airplane = 1200 km

Journey covered by car = 1/3 of total distance

Concept:

If a/b part of any value, where b > a

Remaining value = Actual value × (b - a)/b

Calculation:

Let total distance be x km, then

According to the question

x × 2/5 = 1200

⇒ x = 1200 × 5/2

⇒ x = 3000 km

Total distance = 3000 km.

Distance covered by car = 3000 × 1/3 = 1000

Total distance covered by car and airplane = 1000 + 1200 = 2200 km

∴ Remaining distance covered by train, then remaining distance = 3000 - 2200 = 800 km.
