Option 2 : Persistence of vision
CONCEPT:
Persistence of vision:
- Persistence of vision is the capacity of the eye to maintain an image on the retina for a moment after the image has disappeared.
- This is due to a prolonged chemical reaction.
- The impression of an object seen by the eye persists on the retina for 1 /16 th of a second, even after the object is removed
- If another object is seen before this time, the impressions of the two object merge to give us the sensation of continuity.
- This property of eye is called persistence of vision.
EXPLANATION:
- Animation, motion pictures or films, make use of persistence of vision to create the illusion of movement.
- In cinematography or movie projectors the difference between the two frames is less than 1/16 second.
- Hence the continuous changing frames appear to us like a continuous movie.
