Option 4 : ÷ and -
Given equation: 18 × 12 - 6 ÷ 5 + 4 = 35
1) on interchanging ‘+ and ×’ we get,
18 + 12 - 6 ÷ 5 × 4 = 35
→ 18 + 12 - 4.8
→ 30 - 4.8
→ 25.2 ≠ 35
2) On interchanging ‘+ and ÷’ we get,
18 × 12 - 6 + 5 ÷ 4 = 35
→ 216 - 6 + 1.25
→ 217.25 - 6
→ 211.25 ≠ 35
3) On interchanging ‘- and +’ we get,
18 × 12 + 6 ÷ 5 - 4 = 35
→ 216 + 1.2 - 4
→ 213.2 ≠ 35
4) On interchanging ‘÷ and -’ we get,
18 × 12 ÷ 6 - 5 + 4 = 35
→ 18 × 2 - 5 + 4
→ 36 - 5 + 1
→ 35 = 35
Hence, we should change ‘÷ and -’ symbols.
