Option 4 : Extinct in Captivity 

The IUCN Red List classifies the animals based on the rate of decline, population size, fragmentation etc. into nine categories. They are:

  • Extinct: The species is no longer extant. 
  • Extinct in the wild: Survives only in captivity. 
  • Critically Endangered: In an extremely critical state.
  • Endangered: High risk of extinction in the wild.
  • Vulnerable: Have high-risk of extinction due to human-induced causes. 
  • Near Threatened: Close to being at high risk of extinction in the near future. 
  • Least Concerned: Unlikely to become extinct in the near future

  • Not Evaluated
