- A central processing unit (CPU) which is also known as ‘brain of the computer’ is the electronic circuitry within a computer that executes instructions (from software) by performing the basic arithmetic, logic, controlling, and input/output operation.
- CPU consists of Arithmetic Logic Unit (ALU), Registers and Control Unit.
- Random Access Memory (RAM) is part of motherboard which holds CPU and ROM as well.
