Option 4 : Zinc
Metals without iron are called non-ferrous metals. E.g. Copper, Aluminium, Zinc, Lead and Tin.
- Copper: It is very malleable and ductile and can be made into sheets or wires.
- Lead: It is soft and malleable and has good resistance to corrosion. It is a good insulator against nuclear radiation.
- Zinc: It is brittle and softens on heating; it is also corrosion resistant.
- Tin: It is soft and highly corrosion-resistant.
- Aluminium: Aluminium has high electrical and thermal conductivity. It is soft and ductile and has low tensile strength. Aluminium is very widely used in the aircraft industry and fabrication work because of its lightness.
