- This site was discovered by Amalanand Ghosh.
- The site derives its name for the dense distribution of the fragments of black bangles which were found at the surface of its mounds.
- It is located on the bank of River Ghaggar, in Rigveda also mentioned as Saraswati which dried up by 2000 BC.
