Independence day = 15^th August

Total number of odd days from 1^st January to 31^st July = 3 + 0 + 3 + 2 + 3 + 2 + 3 = 16/7 = 2 odd days

1^st January was on Friday. Therefore, 1^st August will be on Sunday.

Thus, 8^th and 15^th August are Sundays.
