  • About the statue:
    • The Statue of Unity has located on a river-facing the Sardar Sarovar Dam on river Narmada in the Kevadiya colony, Narmada District in the Indian State of Gujarat.
    • It is the world's tallest statue, with a height of 182 meters (597 feet) which is almost double the height (including the pedestal) of the Statue of Liberty, USA.
    • India’s largest engineering and construction company Larsen & Toubro (L&T) was assigned the responsibility for designing, engineering, procurement, construction, operation and maintenance of the project.
    • The statue was inaugurated by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 31 October 2018, the 143rd birth anniversary of Patel.
