Option 4 : x = 20, y = 28, z = 38

Let, after 10 years, the ages of P, Q and R be 15k, 17k and 24k, respectively.

So, the present age of P = 15k - 10

The present age of Q = 19k - 10

The present age of R = 24k - 10

According to question,

(15k - 10) + (19k - 10) - (24k - 10) = 10

⇒ 10k - 20 = 0

⇒ k = 2

⇒ The present age of P = 15k - 10 = 20 years

⇒ The present age of Q = 19k - 10 = 28 years

⇒ The present age of R = 24k - 10 = 38 years

According to question,

∴ x = 20, y = 28 and z = 38
