Concept:

Cooling: Reduce the temperature of substances. In sensible cooling (Horizontal line), the temperature is reduced and specific humidity is constant.

Dehumidification: Reduce the specific humidity at constant temperature.

Cooling and Dehumidification: When the humidity ratio of air decreases, the air is said to be dehumidified, and when it increases, the air is humidified.

Figure shows the different processes.

So, for cooling and dehumidification, we follow the following processes.

(1) By spraying the chilled water, the temperature of hot gases will be reduced.

(2) By circulating chilled water, the temperature of hot gases is absorbed by chilled water and cooled the airflow.

(3) The main use of the Evaporator is for the heat exchanger. By placing the coil, it absorbed the hot temperature of airflow and cooled the air.
