Statement I - False

The water yielding capacity of confined aquifer can be expressed in terms of its storage coefficient. Storage coefficient or storativity is the volume of water released from the storage per unit decline in Piezometric head, per unit area of aquifer(not from entire aquifer). In most of the confined aquifers, the value of storage coefficient, S ranges between 0.00005 to 0.005.

Statement II – True

Water table aquifer means that unconfined aquifer. For unconfined aquifer, storage coefficient is approximately equal to the specific yield.

Specific Yield is defined as the ratio of the volume of water that can be drained by gravity to itstotal volume.

Statement III – False

Storage coefficient is a dimensionless number.

Transmissivity, T = kd

Where K = permeability (m/s) and d width of aquifer (m).

Unit = m/sec × m = m²/s.
