1. Five boats took part in a race.

2. Boat R ﬁnished before Boat M but behind Boat G.

Boat G > Boat R > Boat M

3. Boat A ﬁnished before Boat S but behind Boat M.

Boat M > Boat A > Boat S

Combining (2) and (3), we get: Boat G > Boat R > Boat M > Boat A > Boat S
