Option 4 : P Q S R

The topic in discussion here is the subject of history which is seen as unpopular universally.

Despite this, we are told, Toynbee dared to study this subject and to much astonishment of the others, he successfully created a different view about it. How history was usually viewed merely included a documentation of events in a chronological order. And this is where Toynbee’s view differed from others as he further tried to study a pattern of the rise and fall in civilisations. He did this by studying patterns behind birth, growth, etc. He also studied the Indian civilisation under the same rule.

First sentence: Thus, we are first told about the usual pattern of studying history in dates and time in sentence P.

Second sentence: We are then told about Toynbee’s idea in sentence Q.

Third sentence: In the following sentences, we discuss his methods of studying history in sentence S.

Fourth sentence: We continue to study these methods in sentence R.
