In a playground, the average age of five players was 19 years. Two more joined and the average age increased by 1 year. If the youngest player is now excluded, the average age of the remaining players becomes 21. What will be the average age of the initial five players and youngest player (considering that the youngest player is from the student who joined later) ?

Option 4 : 109/6

Sum of the age of the five players = 19(5) = 95

Sum of the age of the seven players = 20(7) = 140

When the youngest player is excluded, number of players becomes 6 and the average age of the becomes 21.

Sum of the age of the seven players = 21(6) = 126

Hence, the age of the youngest player is 140 – 126 = 14

The average age of initial five players and the youngest joins = (95 + 14)/6 = 109/6
