Given :

X ranked 11th from the top and 30th from the bottom amongst those who passed the examination.

Number of students who passed the examination = 11 + 30 - 1 = 41 - 1 = 40

6 students did not give the examination whereas 4 failed in it.

Total number of students = 40 + 6 + 4 = 50

Hence, ‘50’ is the correct answer.
