Introduction
Paroxib IM/IV Injection 40 mg/vial is a water-soluble and injectable prodrug of valdecoxib. Paroxib IM/IV Injection 40 mg/vial is a COX2 selective inhibitor in the same category as celecoxib (Celebrex) and rofecoxib (Vioxx). As it is injectable, it can be used perioperatively when patients are unable to take oral medications.

Dosage
Elderly: No dose adjustment is generally necessary in elderly patients (≥65 years). However, for elderly patients weighing less than 50 kg, treatment should be initiated with half the usual recommended dose of Paroxib IM/IV Injection 40 mg/vial and reduce the maximum daily dose to 40 mg.
Children: The safety and efficacy of parecoxib in children under 18 years old have not been established. No data are available. Therefore, parecoxib is not recommended in these patients.
