Linagliptin is an oral anti-diabetic drug for the treatment of type 2 diabetes that belongs to the dipeptidyl peptidase 4 (DPP-4) inhibitor class. It is used together with a proper diet and exercise program to control high blood sugar. It works by reducing the amount of sugar (glucose) produced by the liver.
