At a fashion house, shirts are sold for 25% less than the tag price. If a shirt costs Tk. 144, what will be the tag price to make a 25% profit on its cost? Correct Answer Tk. 240
For 25% profit, If cost price is 100 TK, selling price price should be 125 TK. If cost price is 144 TK, selling price should be 125 x 144 / 100 = 180 TK. Let the tag price be T. If 25% discount is given on the tag price then, 75% of T = 180 TK. or, T = 180 / (75/100) = 240 TK.
