Is there a bar soap that doesn't leave a soap scum or film? I prefer bar soap and not a liquid or gel soap. Also, Castile bar soap definitely leaves a substantial film behind.

It's possible that your issue with scum marks isn't due to the soap you use, but rather the water. People who have hard water tend to not be able to soap up/lather as much as with soft water, but at the same time although using soft water has many benefits, it can cause scum/film buildups easily. This occurs especially when soap or other products in general aren't washed away properly.
