Introduction
Relast (trade name Daxas) is a phosphodiesterase 4 (PDE4) inhibitor developed by German pharmaceutical company Bayern Innovativ. It is indicated for the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
Uses
Relast is used to treat chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It works by decreasing inflammation in the lungs, which helps reduce symptoms such as coughing and difficulty breathing.
Mechanism of Action
Relast works by inhibiting the enzyme phosphodiesterase-4 (PDE4), which is responsible for breaking down a substance called cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP). By blocking this enzyme, Relast increases levels of cAMP, which helps reduce inflammation in the lungs.
How Long Does It Take To Work?

Route of Elimination
Relast is eliminated primarily by the kidneys, with approximately 85% of an oral dose excreted in the urine.
Dosage
The recommended oral dose of Relast is one 500 mcg tablet taken once per day. It should be taken with or without meals and can be taken at anytime during the day.
Administration
Relast is available as a tablet, and should be taken orally with a glass of water.
Side Effects
