পলিডিন এ আছে পভিডােন-আয়ােডিন (মাউথওয়াশ & Topical)। পলিডিন এর কাজঃ

প্রাইমারি বা সেকেন্ডারি সংক্রমণ, অস্ত্রোপচার জনিত ক্ষতের সংক্রমণ, সংক্রমিত স্ট্যাসিস আলসার বা সংক্রমিত ডিকিউবিটাস, পায়ােডার্মাস, ত্বকে ছত্রাকের সংক্রমণ এবং আঘাতজনিত ক্ষত সংক্রমণ। প্রতিরােধক হিসেবে পােড়া, ঘা বা যে কোন ধরনের ক্ষতের সংক্রমণে ব্যবহার করা হয়। মুখ, মাড়ি ও মুখ-গহবরের মিউকাস ত্বকের সংক্রমণের চিকিৎসা করার জন্য ব্যবহার করা হয়।

পরিচিতি

Povidone-Iodine contains Povidone-Iodine which is a stable chemical complex of polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) and elemental iodine. Povidone-Iodine shows non-selective broad spectrum germicidal action and acts as bactericide (both gram-positive and gram negative), fungicide, virucide, sporicide, amebicide, insecticide and nematocide and is effective in dilute solution. Povidone-Iodine does not develop resistance in microorganisms. Povidone-Iodine is safer and easier to use than classic iodine preparations and has low systemic toxicity. Unlike iodine solutions, it is nonsensitizing and does not cause pain when applied to wounds or mucous membranes. Povidone-Iodine will not permanently stain skin, natural fibres or hard surfaces. Povidone-Iodine is less irritating to the skin than conventional iodine preparations.

খাওয়ার নিয়ম

পলিডিন এ আছে পভিডােন-আয়ােডিন (মাউথওয়াশ & Topical) 10% w/v। পলিডিন খাওয়ার নিয়ম নিম্নরূপঃ

দিনে একবার বা দুইবার অথবা ড্রেসিং/ব্যান্ডেজ পরিবর্তনের সময় ক্ষতস্থানে প্রয়ােগ করতে হবে।

পার্শ্বপ্রতিক্রিয়া

স্থানীয়ভাবে ত্বকে জ্বালাপােড়া সৃষ্টি করতে পারে, বিপাকজনিত এসিডােসিস, রক্তে সােডিয়ামের পরিমাণ বৃদ্ধি এবং মূত্র সংক্রান্ত জটিলতা দেখা দিতে পারে।

Absorption of iodine from Povidone-Iodine may interfere with thyroid function tests. Contamination with Povidone-Iodine of several types of tests for the detection of occult blood in faeces or blood in urine may produce false-positive results.

গর্ভকালীন কিংবা দুগ্ধদানকালীন অবস্থায় ব্যবহার

Regular use of Povidone-Iodine should be avoided in pregnant or lactating women as absorbed iodine can cross the placental barrier and can be secreted into breast milk. Although no adverse effects have been reported from limited use, caution should be recommended and therapeutic benefit must be balanced against possible effects of the absorption of iodine on fetal thyroid function and development. The use of Povidone-Iodine 1% Mouthwash Gargle in pregnant and lactating women should not use for more than 14 days.

যাদের থাইরয়েড গ্রন্থির জটিলতা রয়েছে তাদের ক্ষেত্রে এটি নিয়মিত ব্যবহার করা যাবে না।
২ বছরের কম বয়সী শিশুদের ক্ষেত্রে এটি ব্যবহার করা যাবে না।
যাদের মূত্র সংক্রান্ত জটিলতা পূর্বেই বিদ্যমান তাদের ক্ষেত্রে ক্ষতস্থানে নিয়মিত ব্যবহারে বিশেষ সতর্কতা অবলম্বন করতে হবে।
যে সমস্ত রােগী লিথিয়াম চিকিৎসা নিচ্ছেন তাদের ক্ষেত্রে এটির নিয়মিত ব্যবহার পরিহার করতে হবে।
